Our History
The history of Adekunle Ajasin University dates back to March 1982 when it was established as Obafemi Awolowo University by the government of the old Ondo State, under the leadership of Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin.
The university was later renamed Adekunle Ajasin University in honour of the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, a foremost educationist and statesman whose vision laid the foundation for the institution.
The Ibadan Campus was established as part of the university’s strategic expansion to bring quality education closer to more Nigerians, particularly in the South West region.
